"35 years of mercury-free dentistry in Brazil"
The American amalgam war began in Brazil. Having studied Dr. Stock's classical work on mercury poisoning, Dr. Pinto, senior, in Rio de Janeiro, stopped using amalgam in 1931. He was mocked and scorned…After a meeting with Dr. Pinto, junior, in Mexico city in 1973, Hal Huggins, DDS, from Colorado, became very interested in the amalgam issue. He later became one of the pioneers in the anti-amalgam movement in the USA.
Dr. Olympio Faissol Pinto (junior) says: "It will probably take several hundred years before we can even approximately estimate the consequences of dental amalgam".
